1. Who We Are

Tech Positive Parenting, LLC ("Company," "we," "our") is a California limited liability company operated by Dr. Rupa Robbins, Ph.D., providing online educational content through techpositiveparenting.com and the Tech Ready online course hosted on Circle. This Privacy Policy applies to all interactions with this website, the quiz, email communications, and the Circle community.


Tech Positive Parenting, LLC is a separate entity from Spark Psychology and does not share patient records, clinical records, or health information with Spark Psychology. Information you provide to Tech Positive Parenting, LLC is not subject to HIPAA protections, is not entered into clinical records, and does not constitute protected health information (PHI).

2. Information We Collect

2(a) Information You Provide Directly:

  • Contact information: First name, last name, email address (collected via quiz submission, email opt-in, and course enrollment).

  • Quiz responses: Answers to the 12-question Smartphone Readiness Quiz, including derived score, percentage, and tier (Ready / Almost Ready / Not Yet).

  • Purchase information: Transaction data for the Tech Ready course purchase, processed by Circle and Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers. Payment processors retain financial data under their own privacy policies.

  • Community Forum posts: Any content you post in the Circle community forum. This content may be visible to other course participants.

  • Communications: Emails you send to us, support requests, and feedback.

2(b) Information Collected Automatically:

  • Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, browser type, device type, and IP address, collected via website analytics.

  • Cookie and tracking data: See Section 5 (Cookies) for details.

  • Email engagement data: Opens, clicks, and unsubscribes on emails sent via Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email service provider.

2(c) Sensitive Information:

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA, including Social Security numbers, financial account details beyond what is necessary to process a transaction, health or medical information, racial or ethnic origin, precise geolocation, or similar categories. If you voluntarily disclose sensitive information in forum posts or emails, we will handle it with care but cannot guarantee it is protected as sensitive information under applicable law.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Delivering the Course and Services:

  • Providing access to the Tech Ready course and Circle community

  • Processing your purchase and sending order confirmation

  • Sending quiz results and follow-up email sequences via Kit

  • Communicating course updates, module releases, and platform changes

Marketing and Communications (with your consent):

  • Sending educational content, newsletters, and promotional emails about Tech Positive Parenting courses and resources

  • Running targeted advertising on Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) using anonymized or hashed audience data (see Section 6)

  • You may opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email

Analytics and Improvement:

  • Understanding how visitors use the website to improve content and user experience

  • Measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns

  • Aggregating quiz data to understand general trends (no individual data is published)

Legal Compliance:

  • Complying with applicable law, including mandatory reporting obligations under California Penal Code § 11166

  • Responding to valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders)

  • Enforcing the Enrollment Agreement

4. How We Share Your Information

4(a) We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information.

Tech Positive Parenting, LLC does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for money or other valuable consideration, consistent with the CCPA's definition of "sale."

4(b) Service Providers ("Processors"):

We share information with third-party vendors who help us operate our business. These vendors are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes. Our current service providers include:

Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — email marketing platform — kit.com

Circle — community and course hosting platform — circle.so

Stripe — payment processing (via Circle) — stripe.com

Squarespace — website hosting — squarespace.com

Google Analytics — website analytics — policies.google.com/privacy

Meta Pixel — advertising measurement — facebook.com/privacy

Each provider maintains its own privacy policy governing data it processes.

4(c) Advertising Platforms:

We may share hashed or pseudonymized email addresses with Google Ads and Meta to build Custom Audiences for advertising. This means advertising platforms may be able to match your email to an existing account on those platforms to show you relevant ads. You can opt out of this use at any time by contacting us at info@techpositiveparenting.com. This practice does not constitute a "sale" of personal information under California law because no data is exchanged for monetary consideration.

4(d) Legal Obligations:

We may disclose your information when required by law, including in response to mandatory reporting obligations, a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect the safety of any person.

4(e) Business Transfers:

If Tech Positive Parenting, LLC is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such transfer and given the opportunity to request deletion before the transfer occurs.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following types of tracking technologies on techpositiveparenting.com:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the website to function. Cannot be disabled.

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): Collect anonymous data about site traffic and usage patterns. We use IP anonymization. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

  • Advertising pixels (Meta Pixel): Track conversion events (e.g., quiz completions, purchases) for advertising measurement and optimization. You can opt out of Meta advertising data use at facebook.com/help/568137493302217.

  • Email tracking (Kit): Tracks email opens and link clicks to measure campaign performance. You can disable this by setting your email client to not load remote images.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

6. Email Marketing — Consent and Opt-Out

By submitting your email address through the quiz, the free download opt-in, or the course enrollment, you consent to receive email communications from Tech Positive Parenting, LLC. These may include:

  • Quiz result emails and follow-up educational sequences

  • Course access information and module announcements

  • Newsletter content about technology parenting topics

  • Promotional communications about Tech Positive Parenting courses


You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing info@techpositiveparenting.com. You cannot opt out of transactional emails (e.g., purchase receipts, password resets) while you remain a course member.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the services described in this Policy and to comply with our legal obligations:

  • Active course members: Data is retained for the duration of your course membership.

  • Email subscribers: Data is retained until you unsubscribe, after which we retain only a suppression record to honor your opt-out.

  • Purchase records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations.

  • Clickwrap acceptance records: Retained for a minimum of 3 years to evidence Agreement acceptance.

  • Deleted data: Upon a verified deletion request, data will be removed within 45 days, except where retention is required by law.


8. Your Rights Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

8(a) Right to Know (Request Disclosure):

You have the right to request that we disclose: (i) the categories of personal information we have collected about you; (ii) the categories of sources from which we collected it; (iii) our business or commercial purpose for collecting it; (iv) the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it; and (v) the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

8(b) Right to Delete:

You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., completing transactions you have requested, complying with legal obligations, maintaining records necessary to exercise free speech or another right provided by law).

8(c) Right to Correct:

You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

8(d) Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing:

We do not sell personal information. We may share hashed or pseudonymized data with advertising platforms for targeted advertising purposes (see Section 4(c)). You may opt out of this sharing by contacting us at info@techpositiveparenting.com or by clicking "Do Not Share My Personal Information" at the bottom of our website.

8(e) Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information:

To the extent we collect any sensitive personal information (as defined by the CPRA), you have the right to direct us to limit its use to what is necessary to perform the services you have requested.

8(f) Right to Non-Discrimination:

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.

8(g) How to Submit a Request:

To exercise any of the above rights, submit a verifiable consumer request to: info@techpositiveparenting.com. You may also submit requests by mail to: Tech Positive Parenting, LLC, 15466 Los Gatos Blvd, Suite 109-197, Los Gatos, CA 95032. We will respond within 45 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.

8(h) Authorized Agent:

You may designate an authorized agent to submit CCPA requests on your behalf. We will require written proof of the agent's authority and may verify your identity directly.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information:

To opt out of any sharing of your personal information with advertising platforms,

9. Children's Privacy — COPPA Compliance

Tech Positive Parenting, LLC is an educational platform designed for adults (parents and guardians of children ages 10–14). We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Course membership, the quiz, and all email opt-ins require the participant to confirm they are at least 18 years of age. Access credentials may not be shared with minors.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact info@techpositiveparenting.com immediately. We will delete such information promptly upon verification.

This Course discusses technology use by children ages 10–14. Parents may reference information about their children's behavior in the forum or in email communications. Such references are not treated as the children's own personal data but as data provided by the adult participant.

10. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit on our website

  • Access controls limiting who within the Company can access personal data

  • Use of reputable third-party platforms (Circle, Kit, Stripe, Squarespace) that maintain their own security programs


No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.


11. Third-Party Links

Our website and Course materials may contain links to third-party websites, tools, or resources. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties and encourage you to review the privacy policies of any site you visit.


12. Relationship to Spark Psychology — Important Separation Notice

Dr. Rupa Robbins also operates Spark Psychology, a separate clinical psychology practice. The following separation is in effect and is material to your privacy:


  • No data sharing: Tech Positive Parenting, LLC does not share your personal information with Spark Psychology for any purpose.

  • No clinical records: Information you provide through this website, the quiz, or the Course is not entered into clinical records and is not protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA.

  • No cross-marketing: Your enrollment in this Course does not result in you receiving clinical services communications from Spark Psychology.

  • Separate entities: Tech Positive Parenting, LLC and Spark Psychology are legally separate business entities. This Privacy Policy applies only to Tech Positive Parenting, LLC.


13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify active course members by email and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of our services after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
